Daniel chapter 4 explores how King Nebuchadnezzar found Gods glory through humility.
He had a dream which was interpreted by Daniel which exposed Gods plan for the king. he was to be 'cut down in his prime', like the tree in his dream and left to endure like the animals for seven years! Now King Nebuchadnezzar was a very pompous and proud man, who was obviously extremely wealthy but he was wicked and unkind to the oppressed! However, he had the chance to renounce his sins by doing what was right as Daniel advised him in verse 27. He did not take this advice.
Therefore just at his peak of power when he could even say to himself, "is this not the great Babylon that I have built as the royal residence, by my mighty power...?" The king found himself fulfilling the Revelation as explained to him by Daniel. He was driven away from people and ate grass like cattle until his eyes were open to the sovereignty of the Lord.
This is what it took for Daniel to recognise the power of God. To recognise that only through God can all things be possible. Previously he was boasting of his own powers, but God showed him that He appoints the kings of this earth and can cut down or uproot any tree which does not bear good fruit!
"Those who walk in pride he is able to humble." (verse 37)
