Nebuchadnezzar's Dream of a Tree

Daniel chapter 4 explores how King Nebuchadnezzar found Gods glory through humility.

He had a dream which was interpreted by Daniel which exposed Gods plan for the king. he was to be 'cut down in his prime', like the tree in his dream and left to endure like the animals for seven years! Now King Nebuchadnezzar was a very pompous and proud man, who was obviously extremely wealthy but he was wicked and unkind to the oppressed! However, he had the chance to renounce his sins by doing what was right as Daniel advised him in verse 27. He did not take this advice.
Therefore just at his peak of power when he could even say to himself, "is this not the great Babylon that I have built as the royal residence, by my mighty power...?" The king found himself fulfilling the Revelation as explained to him by Daniel. He was driven away from people and ate grass like cattle until his eyes were open to the sovereignty of the Lord.

This is what it took for Daniel to recognise the power of God. To recognise that only through God can all things be possible. Previously he was boasting of his own powers, but God showed him that He appoints the kings of this earth and can cut down or uproot any tree which does not bear good fruit!

"Those who walk in pride he is able to humble." (verse 37)

Todays Meditation...

"The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you"

When we find ourselves in difficult situations it is easy to be discouraged but we must always remember that nothing happens that God does not allow to happen. And when we recognise this it will be easier to see the certainty in our overcoming because God will not put you through something that is too much for you to handle or even more so too much for God to take care of! Think about it...there is nothing too much for God!

So as long as you are walking in the will of God, be rest assured that the grace of God will see you through! :)

Love Isn't a Feeling...

I believe in miracles

I believe in me

I believe that in due time

What’s hidden will be freed

It’s important to differentiate

The truth from the lie

Though this world in which we congregate

Twill pass away with time

So tell me, why are we so blind?

When we have the choice to open up our eyes.

Tight fisted in all circumstance

Though we should welcome all with open arms

Cause love isn’t a feeling

It’s a way of life!

Were violent, conniving, malicious and vile

If only we could truly now reconcile

It’s never too late till its over - that’s right

Keep faith but don’t let this pass over tonight

Cause love isn’t a feeling

It’s a way of life!

A Praise Song...

This is a song I came up with this morning after meditation called 'You have been so good'. I thought it would be a good idea to post it and share it with the "world"! lol
At first I thought it would be weird, but I actually really enjoyed doing this, and seeing as this a regular occurrence for me (to come up randomly with a praise song) Ill be sure to do some more of this! :)

Heres the link - just copy/paste and enjoy!

The Word of God is Living...

Scriptures
John 6:41-71
Hebrews 4:12

In the sixth chapter of John, he describes how Jesus speaks to his disciples, telling them that he "is the bread of life. No one who comes to me will ever be hungry again. Those who believe in me will never thirst". (John 6:35)
Many of the disciples however, when hearing this, leaves Jesus... They used human rationalization and failed to see the power in Christ's words.

Like so, many times we Christians try to use our human knowledge to judge, filter, alter or negotiate what we believe of the word of God. Of course this is dangerous as the word of God is "full of living power. It is sharper than the sharpest knife, cutting deep into our innermost thoughts and desires. It exposes us for what we really are". (Heb 4:12)

Therefore,
 "Today you must
 listen to His voice.
 Don't harden your
 hearts against Him."
(Heb 4:7)

A Place of Rest...

Scriptures:
Hebrews 4
The Hebrews
passage speaks of the place of rest God has prepared for those who believe Him.
"... There is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who enter into Gods rest will find rest from their labors..."  (Heb 4:9-10)

This passage is speaking of life after death. The aim, the goal of our lives should be to one day see God, to be acknowledged by Him for our obedience to His Word. In this place of rest, there will be no sorrow and no laboring.
However, the flip side is some people will fail to enter this place of rest due to their unbelief  "for only we who believe can enter His place of rest". (Heb 4:3)

Do you sometimes worry about the level of spirituality needed to attain this glorious rest?

Worry not because " that is why we have a great High Priest who has gone to heaven, Jesus the son of God. Let us cling to Him and never stop trusting Him. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for He faced all the same temptations we do, yet He never sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy and will find grace to help us when we need it." (Heb 4:14-16)
